The Phenomenal Pandan

dav

Malaysian cuisine is very often flavoured with a tint of the aromatic Pandan (Screw Pine). Lately the Pandan is gaining international attention both as a gastronomic flavour and as a super plant with many health benefits such as:

  • Lowers High Blood Pressure
  • Detoxifies Liver And Body
  • Controls Blood Sugar Levels
  • Natural Mosquito and Cockroach Repellent
  • Mild Laxative for Children
  • Contains Nourishing Essential Oils
  • Reduce Fevers

Here’s how to make some refreshing healthy Pandan tea.

dav

Step 1: Take six stalks of pandan leaves.

Step 2: Clean the leaves and knot them as otherwise they are too long to fit into a pot.

Step 3: Bring a pot of filtered water to a boil and then drop the knotted leaves in.

Step 4: Reduce the flame to keep the boil slow and steep the tea for about 20-25 minutes.

Step 5: Drink as it is or add lemongrass or add lemon and /or honey to taste.

We invite first-person testimonials as to the efficacy or otherwise of the claimed benefits of Pandan.

Papaya Leaf Juice for Dengue Fever

With the continual outbreak of Dengue Fever spread by the female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and no specific medicine yet available to treat it, there is real concern and interest as to whether the much touted papaya leaf juice can indeed help the patient to recover faster or even perhaps is truly an effective natural remedy.

The Health Director-General of Malaysia acknowledged papaya leaves contain cyanogenic glycoside but in such minute quantity that it does not pose a danger. (Ref: The Star, Nation, 30-Jan-2016)
The full research paper published by the Dept of Plant Biology, University of Illinois, USA, can be found in www.researchgate.net
Yes, they confirmed the presence of cyanogenic allosides and glycosides.
But the Malaysian Health Ministry has said it is safe; you decide for yourselves.

Me, I’ll still take papaya juice if I’m stricken with dengue.
Why? All plants will definitely have some trace toxins; if not by now they would be extinct having been eaten by insects, animals, etc.
There are too many first person success stories to ignore on the efficacy of papaya leaf juice to treat dengue fever.
Sometime ago when there was practically a dengue epidemic in Selangor, there were so many reports of patients resorting to papaya leaf juice that the hospitals and the Health Ministry could not ignore it. As a result, the hospitals and Health Ministry subsequently endorsed its use. It’s quite standard practice now.

Bro. Ooi Chee Hong contributed the following testimonial:

Re: Papaya leaf treatment for two relatives same time in early Dec. 2014 ( different locations )
Case 1:  Male, 72, with high blood pressure (HBP). The doctor  instructed admission based on the patient’s platelet count 100 and dropping. By the time he was admitted that night, the platelet count had dropped to 70.
Day 2: Platelet count morning 45, night 53.
Day 3 : Morning 66, night 76, a steady improvement.
Day 4 : Platelet count increased to100
Day 5 : Platelet count 150 and he was discharged.

Dosage : 2 matured papaya leaves per day , started just before admission. The recovery effect was just after 24-30 hrs  ( coincidentally , prayer for recovery conducted at 18 hrs ) The nurses and doctor recommended that we try papaya leaves.

Case 2: Male, 65.
Platelets dropped to 8 and he was placed in ICU though no hemorrhage. We defied the doctor’s opinion not to take papaya leaves. He recovered and was discharged after day 6 or 7. The dosage was maybe one or two leaves per day.

rat-earI read your blog regarding all those wonderful wild herbs growing freely in our garden.
My son contracted HFMD recently and it’s a dreadful experience for me.
He refuse to eat and drink for 2 days and i have no choice but i have to force him to drink through syringes.
Then my husband friend recomended this herb as she has also given it to her child due to the same virus infection.
I grind the leave and stem to extract the juice around 1 tablespoon. And after 3 hours he wants to eat !!!!
He can eat his favourite rice biscuit and drink his milk.
rat-ear2I was careful not to give it to him with other medication as i feared it may cause drug interaction.
I gave him a 1 tsp to test in case he has an allergy reaction towards this herb. After half hour there was no sign of allergies, i feed him the rest.

White Kyllinga for Rheumatoid Arthritis

White Kyllinga for Rheumatoid Arthritis – Update 17-Dec-2014

New trial using the whole plant complete with roots and rhizomes.

IMG_7202c

Date: 8-Dec-2014 to 12-Dec-2014
Method: Decoction of a fistful of whole plants complete with roots and rhizomes.
Result: It appeared to be more effective than the earlier trial of infusion of the plant without roots.

IMG_7203cI drank 4 cups daily (about 1-litre) of the decoction for 5 days.
I dug out a fistful of the whole plants and carefully washed away the dirt from the roots and rhizomes.
I placed the whole bunch in a stainless steel pot and added about 1.2 litres of freshly drawn filtered water.
The mixture was brought to a gentle boil and left to simmer on low flame for 20-30 minutes.
The decoction was then poured into a glass teapot and I drank 4 cups over the course of the day.
It eased the dull throbbing pain/irritation in my toes/foot somewhat; at least a bit more than my earlier trial using an infusion of the plant (without the roots).

Conclusion: A decoction of the whole White Kyllinga complete with roots and rhizomes appears to be able to provide some relief of my left foot’s dull throbbing pain.
However, as noted in my earlier trial as well, it is not as spectacular as I had hoped.

Disclaimer and caution:
The plant and dosage (a fistful) may not be appropriate for everyone.
This is not a scientific conclusive experiment but merely my first person testimony on its effect on me, for general information only.
You should seek your own physician’s advice and do your own research before attempting this.

Update 4-Dec-2014

The current wet spell gave rise to an abundant growth of the White Kyllinga weed in my garden. That prompted me to look deeper into this plant and to try it again for the persistent deep, dull throbbing rheumatoid arthritis pain in my feet.

Bumper crop of White Kyllinga

To recap, here are the references on the medicinal uses of the White Kyllinga:

The problem with the literature and references above is that the preparation method is not clear. I decided to try an infusion of the whole plant, minus the roots.
Here is what I did:

1. I took a handful of the plant and cut off at the base (without roots).

IMG_2892
Take a handful

2. Washed the plant thoroughly to remove surface dirt and dust.

3. Stuffed the bundle of washed plants in the strainer of my glass teapot.

IMG_6752
Stuff into the strainer

4. Lightly boiled a litre of freshly drawn filtered water in a stainless steel kettle.

5. Poured the just boiled water over the plants in the strainer/teapot and cover, including the spout. This is to prevent any beneficial volatile oils from escaping.

IMG_6764a
Pour the hot boiled water and let it steep

6. After 20-30 minutes of steeping, the first cup was ready to drink.

7. I continued to let the remainder steep in the teapot and drank a total of 4 cups over the day.

The flavour is slightly minty and easy to drink.

After a week of this daily ritual, I can report that it did give some relief of the dull pain in my feet although not as spectacular as I had hoped.

Maybe I’ll try the whole plant including the roots next week. In that case, I’ll do a decoction instead of infusion, in order to extract the therapeutic value of the roots.

Original Article

IMG_7374I have tried the Green Papaya + Green Tea remedy and it is documented here. Since I have run out of green papaya (no more fruit on my papaya tree!) I decided to try the White Kyllinga remedy.

The White Kyllinga is a grass-like weed is known as a sedge of the Cyperaceae family. It is quite a tenacious weed that seems to grow in some unlikely places in your garden. It has a IMG_7371characteristic three-sided erect stem about 5-10 cm tall with three thin longish grass-like leaves. Atop this crown of three leaves sits the whitish flower ball. It is used to treat commoncolds, bronchitis, malaria, arthritis, joint pains and rheumatism. It is also used as a remedy for diarrhea, dysentery, stomach and intestinial problems.

I pull a bunch (about 5-6 stems) of the white kyllinga and add to 3 cups of boiling water. Leave on slow boil to reduce to about a single cup. The resulting tea is quite refreshing to drink. So far, it seems to give some relief for the pain in my feet.

Papaya and Green Tea for Rheumatoid Arthritis

IMG_9196
My Papaya Tree

A friend, Lee Soo Sin, introduced me to the Green Papaya with Green Tea remedy for my rheumatoid arthritis. I have been seeking a natural remedy for the nagging deep throbbing “pain” in my feet, especially the left foot. With the current stormy weather in my locale, it does not help matters at all. When the weather looked about to change, my feet get even more painful.

_MG_2641
Rat Ear (Peperomia pellucida L.)

I have tried the Pineapple remedy and the Rat Ear (Peperomia pellucida L.remedy which gave partial relief but not a complete “cure”. The Rat Ear is apparently a popular herb in the Philippines for rheumatoid arthritis. Unfortunately, after almost 2 weeks of drinking the Rat Ear tea, my problem still persists. So today I’m embarking on the Green Papaya with Green Tea remedy and will document my experience here.

IMG_9190c
Small Green Papaya

Day 1 ( 29-May-2014 ) I researched the recipe for the Green Papaya Green Tea remedy on the Internet, after discussing with Lee Soo Sin.       Found it at http://abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/363878/

IMG_9195
Cut into “Cubes”

Recipe:
1. Cut a green papaya (unripe papaya) into small cubes, with skin but remove the seeds.
2. Put a few cubes (25 grams ) in a pot of water and bring to boil.
3. Add green tea to the boiling water. The author used Oolong tea.
4. Filter off the papaya and tea leaves and drink the tea.

IMG_9198
Pecah Beling Leaves

I used 4 cubes in 2 cups of water. After the water is boiling, add 7 dried leaves of Pecah Beling ( Strobilanthes crispus as my green tea. Low boil and simmer for about 30 minutes to reduce to one cup. I used Pecah Beling because this is growing abundantly in my garden and it has antioxident properties. I drank it after my lunch. I drank the tea at 2.15pm and it’s now 3.15pm. The deep throbbing “pain” seems to have subsided although the feet still felt “tight”.

Day 2 ( 30-May-2014 )
Woke up this morning and I could get out of bed without the feet feeling leaden and no stabbing pain. I was quite excited to boil my second dose of Green Papaya-Green Tea, which I did after my breakfast. Again, 4 cubes of green papaya in 2 cups of water, bring to a boil and added 7 dried leaves of Pecah Beling as my green tea. I drank it this time before lunch with much hopeful anticipation. I was not disappointed. By late afternoon, the throbbing irritating pain had not returned. I had to press my foot to touch some spots where there was some remnant mild pain. Otherwise, I don’t even know the pain is there.

It’s now 9.30pm as I’m writing this. I can’t wait to drink my third dose tomorrow.

Day 3 ( 31-May-2014 )
Again, I got out of bed without much problem. My feet felt a bit more leaden than yesterday. But it should get better after I drink my third dose, I told myself. I repeated yesterday’s routine; boiled the tea after breakfast and drank it about an hour before lunch.
The deep dull throbbing pain did not return, but I could feel the pain in the joints of my toes when I tried to stand on my toes.
Maybe my expectation was too high, considering that the effect was understandably more pronounced the first day since the overall pain was more widespread and felt. Now that the remnant pain is only slight, any improvement would also be less noticeable.
Let us see what happens tomorrow.

Day 4 ( 1-June-2014 )
Repeated the tea boiling routine and drank my fourth dose just before lunch. It’s now more than 3 hours since I drank it and there seems to be some incremental improvement. It’s not as painful as yesterday when I stand on my toes. The remnant pain is in the joints of the big toe and the small last toe. More in the small toe of the left foot. The “pain” is more of a “feeling” than an actual physical pain. It’s hard to describe but I guess fellow sufferers will know what I mean.

So far, so good. I wonder if I’ll have any additional improvement tomorrow.

Day 5 ( 2-June-2014 )
The remnant “pain”, particularly in the left foot, remains more or less the same, which means to say that I don’t really notice it unless I think about it. That is quite good for me. Towards late evening, strangely the joint of my little finger on the right hand had a bit of irritating discomfort. Otherwise, I should say that the tea seems to be maintaining a good level of comfort for me.

Day 6 ( 3-June-2014 )
The tea seems to be maintaining my comfort level. That suits me fine.

Day 7 ( 4-June-2014 )
When I woke up this morning, I felt the feet somewhat leaden. However, it loosened up after I had walked around a bit. I drank my 7th dose at about 11.00am.

Day 8-13 (5-9 June-2014)
I drink a cup a day just to maintain the level of comfort. The pain/discomfort does not disappear completely but it seems to have settled to a reasonably tolerable level, where I don’t really notice it unless I think about it.

To be continued.

Pineapple Relieves Arthritis, Joint Pain and Swelling

pineapple480optI had this nagging peculiar pain in my feet, which affects the toe joints, heel, ankle joint, outer side of feet, at various time.  At first I thought it might be gout and I attempted the nutmeg remedy. It didn’t work for me.

I then consulted a TCM practitioner and he diagnosed it as “wind” in my feet. Chinese readers will know what I mean. He showed me some pressure points which when pressed/rubbed, gave some relief. The rest of the treatment involved applying some messy paste on the feet and some awful tasting liquid medicine. I must say the TCM treatment helped somewhat. The problem is that whenever one part of the foot is relieved of the pain, it (the pain) reappears elsewhere on the foot.

Then at a recent wedding dinner, I was seated next to my friend, BK Lee, to whom I recounted my feet problem. The next day, he forwarded to me an email that his sister had circulated which described how someone attributed the pineapple as the remedy for his/her arthritis. BK suggested I try this.

That was on 9-June-2013. The next day I had my wife buy me some pineapple to eat (fresh, as dessert). I must say, it didn’t seem too promising. However, I was determined to give it a decent trial, if not for anything else, at least I’ll have a first person report on yet another natural remedy that didn’t work for me. So I stuck at it; eating a generous helping of the fresh fruit daily, including my morning fruit juice (pineapple with other stuff  like carrot, etc.). By the end of the first week, I definitely felt some significant relief. Today is 20-June-2013, and I can safely say now that the relief is real.

So what is it in the pineapple that makes it an anti-inflammatory wonder?  It turns out that “bromelain” is an enzyme found in the plant family, Bromeliaceae (bromeliads). Bromelain is often marketed as a natural anti-inflammatory for conditions such as arthritis. It’s one of the most popular supplements in Germany, where it is approved  for the treatment of inflammation and swelling of the nose and sinuses due to surgery or injury. (ref: http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/herbsvitaminsa1/a/Bromelain.htm). And it so happens that Pineapple is apparently the only bromeliad with an edible fruit. In the case of pineapple, the bromelain is extracted from its stem and the fruit core.

Now, most of us remove the rather fibrous core when we eat the pineapple fruit. And the stem is inedible. So while it took 10 days for me to be convinced of its efficacy, I am going to eat the fruit core from tomorrow, to see if eating the core helps more. Stay tuned for the update here.

History

When cancer strikes a family, what course of action should one take? Dr. Tateishi Kazu’s father and brother both died of cancer. And then he found himself suffering from cancer of the duodenum and spreading. His stomach was removed, but the cancer cells had spread to his lungs. He resolved to fight for his life. He researched, studied and tested over 1,500 types of herbs and plants. Eventually he discovered the right combination of ingredients and formulated a unique healing vegetable soup and brown rice tea with its own molecular powers. The vegetables are rich in green chlorophyll, amino acids, iron, phosphorous, calcium, all in a natural form.

He based his soup on the principles of Five Elements theory, the harmonizing balance of the forces of yin and yang, acid and alkaline, that engenders health as opposed to the imbalance, which leads to disease.

The five elements in our environment are wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Because of the balance of the five elements, the earth is able to produce life. Dr. Tataishi Kazu used the essence of the five elements. Each essence possesses its own color: green, red, yellow, white and black. These relate to the corresponding internal organs: heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidneys. He used the concept of the five different colors as matched to specific vegetables.

Green/Daikon Radish Leaves

Red/Carrot

Yellow/Burdock Root

White/Daikon Radish

Black/Shittake Mushrooms

Notes:This is a remedy for all age groups. When the soup is ingested, it produces thirty different elements for fighting disease. Within three days, it can stop the growth of cancer cells. Even for some last-stage cancer patients, it can lead to 100% remission. Patients who have subsisted on feeding tubes for nourishment, when given the soup, after two days regained their strength. Over 10,000 last-stage cancer patients have used this remedy. 99% are alive and were able to return to work. Bottom of Form 1

Vegetable Soup Recipe – (2 day’s quantity)

Ingredients:

16 ounces white daikon

8-10 ounces white daikon greens

8-10 ounces carrot

8 ounces burdock root (called Gobo in Japanese, Uang in Korean, Ngao pong or Niu pang in Chinese)

3-5 fresh shitake mushroom (sundried) – if not sundried, expose dried mushrooms to sun again.

Directions:

1. Don’t peel anything! Don’t add any seasoning!

2. Fill a pot with three times the quantity of water as the vegetable. When it comes to a boil, reduce the flame and simmer for two hours. Strain and drink.

Brown Rice Tea Recipe

Another remedy that can be used in conjunction with the vegetable soup is brown rice tea. It is a good diuretic for ridding excess water from the body. For diabetics, it can bring the sugar level down by producing more natural insulin in the body. It cleanses the blood and blood vessel. A person with a heart condition drinking both soups in 20 days will be able to regulate their problem by drinking three cups per day. For a regular cancer patient, about two cups.

1.- 1 cup brown rice

2. 16 cups water

Note: only cook in stainless steel or glass. Do not mix with any other ingredients. Don’t be “creative.”

Directions:

1. Roast the rice without oil until dark brown but don’t burn. Boil 8 cups of water and pour roasted rice into water. Turn off flame, cover and let sit five minutes. Strain out rice and reserve liquid.

2. Boil 8 more cups of water. Put the remaining rice back in the water. Cover, lower flame and simmer five minutes. Strain rice out. Mix the two rice waters together.

Special Notes:

The amount one needs depend on the condition. The more serious the condition, the more tea.

Do not drink tea while taking a high protein substance.

Don’t drink the vegetable soup and brown rice tea together. Wait at least 15 minutes apart.

If you use this remedy regularly you will never be sick.

Some possible reactions:

itchy skin or eczema

If you use medications and/or have eczema, use less because of stronger reaction

People with head injury problems may develop headaches but don’t worry.

People with eye problems may get temporary blurred vision or itching around eyes. Eyesight will get better. If you wear prescription glasses, try to reduce the prescription and use glasses less frequently.

Lowering of body temperature, but this is normal.

Notes:For high blood pressure, drink the two soups alternately but slowly. Blood pressure will come down after one month. Talk to a doctor about reducing medication, but don’t stop medication right away. Use remedy for minimum of one month.

Progress of Healing

After three days of use, cancer cells stop growing.

After a minimum of one month normal cells begin to grow back.

Pancreatic Cancer: minimum 1 month

Stomach Cancer: 1 month

Liver Cancer: 1 year

Rheumatism: 1 year

Cataracts: 4 months

Eye Disease: 1-4 months

Insomnia, Sinusitis, Fatigue: 10-20 days

Eczema: 4-7months

Liver Spots: 3-6 months skin will clear

Hair growth: 6-12 months

Epilepsy: 3-6 months

Stroke: 6-12 months

Irregular heart beat: 20 days

Notes:If you are on medication, consult with a doctor to adjust your dosage. This remedy works for some people. It may not work for you. It is not intended to replace the traditional treatments.

Q1: Are ingredients of the vegetable soup recipe measured in fluid ounces or real weights?

A1: Dr. Antonia Martinez Director of the Healing Spirit said that their recipe uses the real weights and not the fluid ounces as in other food recipes.

Q2: Do people using the Vegetable Soup have side effects or reactions?

A2 : Depending on individual bodies, some people using the Vegetable Soup could have side effects/reactions. Reactions are classified in 2 categories:

Natural Reaction: Ingredients in the Vegetable soup have lots of medicinal effects and contain chemicals that are working on human cells to make them better and stronger, and in the same time purify and cleanse blood stream to push out LDL (bad cholesterol) and fat. Reactions could be itches on the skin, itches around eyes, blurring eyes but these reactions will go away in a few days. If reactions persist stop the HLEF for a few weeks and start again.

 Patient or user mistakes

Mistakes could be ranging from:

(1) using the wrong kind of ingredients especially the Chinese mushrooms instead of the Japanese Shiitakes.

(2) the proportion of vegetables making the soup is not followed closely.

(3) using wrong type of saucepan. Must use stainless steel saucepan to cook.

(4) vegetable soup left outside in room temperature more than 6 hours can turn out to have bad smelling or color changes to green or white. Throw it away at once. Vegetable Soup should be stored in glass container and refrigerated.

(5) drinking the Vegetable Soup and the Brown Rice solution together or in the same time. People are reporting serious reactions when taking those two solutions in the same time. Must drink them separately with half-hour or one hour apart.

Q3: How much vegetable soup can one consume a day?

A3: For:

Diabetes take 600 cc of Brown rice (BR) solution in the morning and 400 cc of Vegetable Soup (VS) in the afternoon.

Heart problem: 300 cc of BR and 600 cc of VS

Gall stones: 600 cc of BR and 600 cc of VS.

Other diseases: About 600 cc (2.5 cups) of VS a day divided in 3 rations before meals .

IMPORTANT NOTE

DO NOT DRINK Vegetable Soup and Brown Rice Solution in the same time. The interval needed between consumption of BR and VS must be at least 30 minutes or 1 hour apart to be safe.

Burdock

This herb gets its name from bur, for its tenacious burrs, and dock old English for plant. Many scientists are skeptical about Burdock and its uses. However, as a healing herb it has a potential for treating cancer. Early Chinese physicians, as well as Ayurvedic healers, used Burdock as a remedy for colds, flu, throat infections and pneumonia. During the 14th Century, its leaves were pounded in wine and used to treat leprosy. From 1930-1950, Burdock was used as an ingredient in alternative cancer treatments.

The FDA noted that too much of this herb can cause side effects and lists Burdock as an herb of “undefined safety”. However, German researchers have discovered fresh Burdock root contains polyacetylenes, a chemical that kills disease-causing bacteria and fungi. It also reduces mucus and prevents formation of gall and kidney stones. As Burdock contains vitamin A and selenium, it can eliminate free radicals.

Its chromium content helps regulate blood sugar levels. Other qualities of this herb, set forth in the magazine Chemotherapy, identified a chemical (arctigenin) in Burdock which acts as an inhibitor of tumor growth.

!!! This herb should not be used by pregnant women.!!!

History

Burdock is also known by the names Bardane, Clotburr, Beggars Buttons, Gypsy Rhubarb, Gobo, and Burr. In traditional herbal texts, Burdock Root is described as a “blood purifier” or “alterative”, and was believed to clear the bloodstream of toxins.

Medicinally, Burdock Root has been used both internally and externally for eczema and psoriasis, as well as to treat painful joints and as a diuretic.

In traditional Chinese medicine, Burdock Root, in combination with other herbs, is used to treat sore throats, tonsillitis, colds, and even measles.

It is eaten as a vegetable in Japanand elsewhere. Burdock is a mild laxative. It also aids in the elimination of uric acid. The herb contains polyacetylenes that have both anti-bacterial & anti-fungal properties. By improving the function of many organs of elimination (liver, kidneys, bowels), many health conditions can be improved.

Burdock Root contains high amounts of inulin and mucilage. This may explain its soothing effects on the gastrointestinal tract. Bitter constituents in the root may also explain the traditional use of Burdock to improve digestion. The polyacetylene constituents have also been shown to have anti-microbial activity. Burdock Root (and the fruit) also have the ability to mildly lower blood sugar (hypoglycemic effect).

.Medicinal Action and Uses

Alterative, diuretic and diaphoretic. One of the best blood purifiers. In all skin diseases, it is a certain remedy and has effected a cure in many cases of eczema, either taken alone or combined with other remedies, such as Yellow Dock and Sarsaparilla.

The root is principally employed, but the leaves and seeds are equally valuable. Both root and seeds may be taken as a decoction of 1 OZ. to 1 1/2 pint of water, boiled down to a pint, in doses of a wineglassful, three or four times a day.

The anti-scorbutic properties of the root make the decoction very useful for boils, scurvy and rheumatic affections, and by many it is considered superior to Sarsaparilla, on account of its mucilaginous, demulcent nature; it has in addition been recommended for external use as a wash for ulcers and scaly skin disorders.

An infusion of the leaves is useful to impart strength and tone to the stomach, for some forms of long-standing indigestion.

When applied externally as a poultice, the leaves are highly resolvent for tumours and gouty swellings, and relieve bruises and inflamed surfaces generally. The bruised leaves have been applied by the peasantry in many countries as cataplasms to the feet and as a remedy for hysterical disorders.

From the seeds, both a medicinal tincture and a fluid extract are prepared, of benefit in chronic skin diseases. Americans use the seeds only, considering them more efficacious and prompt in their action than the other parts of the plant. They are relaxant and demulcent, with a limited amount of tonic property. Their influence upon the skin is due largely to their being of such an oily nature: they affect both the sebaceous and sudoriferous glands, and probably owing to their oily nature restore that smoothness to the skin which is a sign of normal healthy action.

The infusion or decoction of the seeds is employed in dropsical complaints, more especially in cases where there is co-existing derangement of the nervous system, and is considered by many to be a specific for all affections of the kidneys, for which it may with advantage be taken several times a day, before meals.

Treats certain cancers, prevents diabetes

Burdock’s name is a combination of bur, for its spiked seed covers – burrs – that grab onto anything that touches them, and dock, Old English for “plant.” Many scientists dismiss burdock as useless, but like its seeds, its reputation as an herbal healing agent clings tenaciously because of its subtle tonic benefits and its intriguing potential as a treatment for cancer.

Throughout history, burdock has been recommended for an astonishing number of illnesses. Ancient Chinese physicians used it to treat colds, coughs, tonsillitis, measles, skin infections and snakebite. Traditional European and American herbalists and homeopaths prescribed it for colds, arthritis, gout, stomach problems, fever, canker sores, leprosy, boils, gonorrhea, ringworm and infertility. They also considered it an excellent diuretic, and prescribed it for urinary tract infections, kidney problems and painful urination.

True, burdock is not powerfully therapeutic. But Daniel B. Mowrey, PhD, director of the American Phytotherapy Research Laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, and author of The Scientific Validation of Herbal Medicine, insists that it deserves its enduring place in herbal healing because of its value as a tonic – a subtle strengthener with cumulatively helpful effects.

“Burdock’s action is mild, but real,” Dr. Mowrey explains. “It has antibacterial and antiviral powers, and it reduces blood sugar, which helps prevent diabetes. I recommend using a little every day. And when you’re ill, use it in addition to standard therapies.”

Natural Remedy by Longevitology

Longevitology is yet another alternative natural treatment. It may sound too far-fetched and meta-physical to some (if not most) of you. However, I am publishing it here because of a personal testimony by a  friend, who found this treatment in his quest for a natural remedy for cancer for someone close to him.  It has been many years since, and not only did the person survived cancer, they are both a picture of radiant health. They swear by this and sincerely would like to share with others. So here it is. What follows is an extract from a hand-out for an event by Longevitology.

Longevitology is a natural healing method that uses the human body to receive energy from the universe. It involves the relaxation of the body and mind in order to acquire the energy in a natural way. This is achieved by sitting quietly without any complicated body positions and quieting the heart (mind). The whole process is done naturally, therefore there are no side effects and can be practiced by anybody regardless of their race, political belief, conviction or religion.
Longevitology believes that good health is the result of chi and blood flowing smoothly and any maladjustment between them will result in illness. Disease or illness is cured when the energy acquired by the above mentioned technique enters our body and then energizes every cell, enabling the body organs to function normally. This will lead to chi and blood flowing actively thus improving circulation and metabolism, raising the levels of antibodies and improving the immune system of the body. As a result of this, the filth of a disease is expelled by the metabolic system of the body itself thus the whole healing process is natural and does not involve any medical equipment, massage, oral medication or drugs. Most importantly, there are no side effects and it is perfectly safe.
Longevitology originated from Taiwan in 1993 and since then, it has grown worldwide and is taught free of charge to its learners. Presently, there are many Longevitology centres with about one million followers in countries like USA, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Germany, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Gallstones Cleanse

Gallstones

A close friend of mine, S.A. Ng, has given his personal testimony as to the effectiveness of a natural remedy to excrete gallstones safely without surgery. It involves nothing more than olive oil, apple juice and lemon juice (the simplified version).

Since various claimed remedies can be readily found through an Internet search, I just want to inform you here of this friend’s personal testimony, who has routinely done the gallstones cleanse successfully, by following the protocol below.

You may refer to this source for the full procedure:

You may also contact Mr. S.A. Ng ( sang288@gmail.com ) for further clarification as to how he does the procedure.

Please remember to return here and post your results for the benefit of others, if you do try the remedy.

Disclaimer: I have no ties to Stephanie Relfe, the author of the remedy in the given source, but S.A. Ng is a close personal friend.
